Think Aloud
This is a strategy that helps students make meaning from texts. As students read/review texts, they pause to think about connections they are making, images they are creating, and problems they might be experiencing. This "Oral Thinking" is a meta-cognitive practice that builds reading independence. (Davey, 1983; Olshavsky, 1976-77)

Padlet
Students can submit text to a padlet and "think aloud" and discuss a topic after/ before reading texts. This strategy integrates connecting concepts with a topic while engaging an online writing tool. Create an account and have students join your wall. Just make sure you set it to moderate in the privacy window.
